Jeeps of all sizes and colors. Fire trucks with sirens blaring. A baseball team mascot waving to the crowd. These were among the sights and sounds at parades held at many LVHN hospital campuses this week as people came together to thank the LVHN heroes who are caring for our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. This video captures the energy and fun at all the parades.
First responders held parades at LVH–Muhlenberg on April 14, 2020, and LVH–Hazleton on April 15, 2020, to salute front-line heroes. On April 17, 2020, an organization named “Jeep Enthusiasts of Eastern PA” organized parades at LVH–Cedar Crest, LVH–17th Street and LVH–Muhlenberg to thank LVHN’s health care professionals.
Another organization that offered thanks was the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. April 17 was to be opening day for the ball club. Instead, IronPigs mascot Ferrous celebrated “Hope”ening Day by participating in the parade at LVH–Cedar Crest.
