According to a new ranking released by Newsweek, Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Cedar Crest is nationally recognized as a top inpatient rehabilitation facility, The hospital is named as one of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2024. LVH–Cedar Crest is the only hospital in the region to receive this honor.
Inpatient rehabilitation facilities are freestanding rehabilitation hospitals and rehabilitation units in acute care hospitals.
Newsweek evaluated more than 1,100 inpatient facilities from across the U.S. and ranked only the top 300.

The top facilities are sorted by geography. The 25 states with the most facilities are ranked individually, and facilities from the remaining states are grouped into regions: Northeast, Midwest, West and South.
Pennsylvania is one of the states with an individual ranking. LVH–Cedar Crest ranks in the top 15 rehabilitation centers in the state.

- Quality Metric: Data for inpatient rehabilitation facilities published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- National Online Survey: An online survey among experts with knowledge of physical rehabilitation centers (physicians, physiotherapists, doctors, clinic managers, and other health care professionals) was conducted in cooperation with Newsweek.
- Accreditation: Data on physical rehabilitation centers provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC).
- Google Reviews: Reviews from Google were included as a proxy for patient satisfaction.

- A total of 34 private patient rooms, some of which have telemetry beds for monitoring of cardiac and respiratory patients.
- A therapy gym with cardio equipment, resistance bands and weights.
- A kitchen where patients can practice cooking.
- Advanced technical equipment such as the Bioness Vector Gait System, a harness for people who are learning to stand or walk again.
- An activities-of-daily-living suite where patients can test their ability to live independently prior to discharge.
