Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute’s sports medicine team hosted “A Night of Football” with its Impact Athlete and Washington Commanders first-round draft pick, Jahan Dotson. The camp, held at Charles Chrin Community Center of Palmer Township, was free of charge and open to youth football players entering sixth through ninth grade.
During the two-hour event, Dotson, a graduate of Nazareth Area High School, along with several of his Penn State teammates and the Orthopedic Institute team, led a variety of skills and drills designed to help athletes take their game to the next level. They also took part in some spirited competition with the young athletes.
Dotson is one of five Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Impact Athletes. Steve Hultgren, Director, Sports Performance Initiatives, Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, says LVHN Impact Athletes are regional athletes who were molded by their community to become successful collegiate athletes. Hultgren says the goal of the Impact Athlete program is to provide regional youth athletes with strong inspirational role models who encourage them to pursue their goals.
