Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) will administer free seasonal flu vaccinations for adults 18 and older at the Health & Wellness Center at Hazleton, 50 Moisey Drive, Hazle Township, on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Supplies are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
Getting a flu vaccine is more important than ever this year because it can reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization and death. Getting a flu vaccine can also reduce the burden on the health care system responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and save medical resources for care of COVID-19 patients.
“We are happy to provide this free health service to our community and encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity,” says Terry Purcell, President, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton.
A standard dose of flu vaccine will be given to those 18 to 64 years of age. Those 65 and older will be offered the senior vaccine.
