LVHN Holds Third Annual Run 4 Pies Event at LVH–Hecktown Oaks

The event more than doubled in size from previous years

’Tis the season for fresh-baked goods, giving back to the community and making spirits bright. Runners and walkers who participated in Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN)’s third annual Run 4 Pies did just that on Sunday, Nov. 17. Participants came ready to take on the 4-mile and 1.3-mile courses set around the Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Hecktown Oaks campus and received a delicious homemade pie courtesy of ShopRite at the finish line. Other lead sponsors for the event were Adams Outdoor Advertising, Cumulus Media, Schlouch, Cetronia Ambulance Corps, People First and MFP Realty Holdings.

This year’s Run 4 Pies brought in a record-breaking 230 participants.

This year’s fundraiser was no pie in the sky, as the event brought in a record-breaking 230 participants, who, along with sponsors, raised funds for community health and wellness initiatives, patient assistance and general needs at LVH–Hecktown Oaks in Lower Nazareth Township.

Amanda Furrer, 36, was this year’s top female finisher with a time of 25 minutes, 54 seconds, while 28-year-old Anthony Calantoni was the top overall and top male finisher at 21 minutes, 15 seconds. Furrer and Calantoni, as well as the top age-group finishers, received prizes courtesy of Keystone Running Store and Aardvark Sports Shop.

Apple or pumpkin pie, this event is truly a sweet treat for everyone!
