In a heartwarming display of community spirit, 15 Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) public safety officers joined local police officers for Whitehall-Coplay School District’s Zephyr Express, a cherished “Shop with a Cop” event held annually at Burlington and Fellowship Community. Officers from Whitehall, Coplay, Lehigh County Sheriff's Office, and Lehigh Valley Hospital participated, with additional support from Cetronia Ambulance. Far exceeding their role as sponsors, the officers delighted in spending time with children as they selected holiday gifts, building bonds that went well beyond the shopping aisles.
LVHN Public Safety Officers Spread Holiday Cheer Through Whitehall’s Zephyr Express
Officers helped make spirits bright in our community
One officer was invited by a young girl to attend her birthday party the following weekend, a testament to the strong connections made during the event. These moments will be cherished and remembered for years to come – by both the officers and the families.
“I am very proud of our team of public safety officers that eagerly embraced the opportunity to participate in the Zephyr Express event last week,” says Ryan Hay, Administrator, Emergency Operations and Public Safety. “Thank you to all of our officers who helped improve the lives of children and families in our community.”
The Zephyr Express reflects the true spirit of the holidays, where small acts of kindness have the power to create lasting memories and strengthen community ties. By participating, LVHN’s public safety officers exemplify their dedication to going above and beyond for the community they serve.
