To help keep the community safe during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak it is important that we keep everyone informed.
As part of that commitment, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) wants the community to know that a colleague at a Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH) –17th Street practice has tested positive for COVID-19, the first positive case in Lehigh County reported today by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH). Processes were followed and precautions were taken to help ensure the safety of colleagues and patients.
This is the same presumptive positive COVID-19 case reported today by the City of Bethlehem Health Department.
The LVHN colleague experienced symptoms on March 3, 4 and 9. Patients and colleagues with whom the colleague contacted on these days have been informed and advised to self-quarantine. The colleague also is out of the hospital on self-quarantine at home. The colleague has been not been at LVH-17th Street since March 9.
At LVH–17th Street and all LVHN locations, strict cleaning standards are being followed to help prevent the spread of infection. The most important thing you and all people can do to aid in this effort is to stay home if you are sick.
