LVHN Teams Raise More Than $8,000 in American Heart Association Heart Walk

23 teams walked to support heart disease and stroke medical breakthroughs

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) teams were once again at the top of the leaderboard at the American Heart Association’s Lehigh Valley & Berks Heart Walk held September 22 at the Lehigh Valley Zoo.

“It was a great day with many colleagues from across the network supporting the American Heart Association’s mission,” says Kyle Garon, Institute Engagement & Outreach Manager with Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute. “Together, we ensured that Lehigh Valley Health Network was well-represented at this annual event sponsored by the Heart and Vascular Institute. Thank you to all coaches and walkers who rallied their colleagues, friends and family to join in on the fun.”

LVHN had 23 teams participate from across the network and together they boasted the second highest company amount, raising an impressive $8,088. Funds raised help the American Heart Association conduct more research, train more people in lifesaving CPR and continue to support medical breakthroughs to end heart disease and stroke.

LVHN’s Young Professionals really stepped up this year. They were the highest-ranking LVHN team with $1,818 raised. Roshelle Glasgow from that team also placed first out of all LVHN walkers with an individual total of $904. Congratulations to Roshelle and all the teams!

According to the Heart Walk website this year’s event raised $123,335.
