LVHN’s Nite Lites Benefits Nursing Education with a Wicked Soirée

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) held its 27th annual black-tie fundraiser, Nite Lites, on Nov. 2 with a spellbinding Wicked Soirée. The event was celebrated at Wind Creek Hotel Foundry Ballroom in Bethlehem for the second year. 

“Nurses are the backbone of our health network,” said Brian A. Nester, DO, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Jefferson and President of Lehigh Valley Health Network. “Nurses ensure that high-quality care is delivered with compassion. Our gala tonight invests in our nurses’ education, skills and success. A stronger nursing community means healthier patients throughout our region.” 

Nearly 800 guests enjoyed a magical evening of dinner, dancing and a popular “Wicked” medley sung by two New York City-based performers who have toured with the show. This year’s event raised nearly 
$900,000, with proceeds benefiting nursing education at Lehigh Valley Health Network. 

“By attending Nite Lites, you help build the next generation of nurses, which our communities urgently need,” said Annmarie Chavarria, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive for LVHN. “You enable programs that make becoming a registered nurse affordable and accessible to more people. You also support our experienced nurses who are training and translating their knowledge to new nurses.” 

Dr. Nester thanked more than 70 sponsors for their support, giving special recognition to title sponsors Peggy and Bill Hecht. 

During the evening’s program, guests heard directly from several nurses who shared how LVHN has enabled them to thrive.
