Patients who do not have signs of COVID-19 infection (asymptomatic) who require a COVID-19 test for purposes of pre-hospital procedures, travel or return to work can now go to HNL Lab Medicine (HNL) locations in Hazleton and Mountain Top. The HNL sites have been opened for asymptomatic COVID-19 testing to limit the co-mingling of symptomatic and asymptomatic people at the same location and to avoid possible spread of the virus.
The following information is provided as a guide for those who are asymptomatic and require COVID-19 testing if they are scheduled for a medical test or procedure, or if a test is required for travel or return to work.
Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing Locations (prescription required)

Pre-procedure testing
- A prescription is required from the performing physician.
- The test should be performed 4-5 days prior to procedure.
Return to work testing
- A prescription is required from the primary care provider.
- If a person does not have a primary care provider, call 888-402-LVHN (5846).
Travel testing
- A prescription is required from the primary care provider.
- If a person does not have a primary care provider, call at 888-402-LVHN (5846).
Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 or patients requiring testing after an exposure to another person with COVID 19 infection should continue to go to the Sherman Court Assess and Test location, 140 N. Sherman Court, Hazleton.
COVID-19 symptoms include:
- Fever (> 100.4 ℉)
- Cough
- Difficulty breathing
- Sore throat
- Runny nose/congestion
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Body aches
- Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea
- New loss of taste or smell
