Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG) Internal Medicine–Orwigsburg opened in March to extend quality care to patients 18 and older throughout southern Schuylkill County.
“We take ‘care close to home’ seriously,” says William Reppy, MBA, President of Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill, and Vice President of Operations, Northwest Region. “Some communities around Orwigsburg had no providers; we’ve changed that.”
LVPG–Orwigsburg, Route 61, can be reached in minutes from surrounding communities.
“There’s convenient parking right outside the door,” Reppy says. “We’re upgrading the building in its country setting surrounded by wildlife – deer, turkeys, rabbits. Yet the office is appointed with the latest technology. Our electronic health record provides access to patients’ full medical histories and test results. A brand-new practice with a physician new to the area allows very timely access to appointments.”
The office is staffed by Johns Hopkins-trained primary care internist Suzanne Cotter, MD. Rotating cardiology and OB-GYN specialists are also in the plans.
“I must stress that the most important aspect of any practice is the provider,” Reppy says. “The building might be beautiful, but if you don’t have a talented physician, it doesn’t matter. Dr. Cotter is a great clinician from a highly respected institution. She’s also guest lecturer at Johns Hopkins and Penn State University.
She’s excited about building an outstanding practice from the ground up. The community is really lucky to have her.”
