Vaccinations are important shots to get because they help prevent serious illnesses. Some diseases we should receive immunizations for include:
-
Measles – which can cause brain swelling and deafness
-
Chickenpox – which can cause scarring and pneumonia, as well as increase risk for shingles later in life
-
Polio – which can cause meningitis and paralysis
Whether your child attends school in-person or virtually, you still want to make sure your child is up-to-date with his or her vaccinations.
To help make getting those shots easier, VHP–Children’s Clinic at Lehigh Valley Hospital is organizing immunization clinics for children ages 4-18 on two upcoming dates. Appointments are required – see frequently asked questions (FAQs) for all the specifics.
