Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Carbon celebrated a construction milestone with a virtual beam-raising ceremony at the new facility slated to open in spring 2022. The event was broadcast live on LVHN’s Facebook page and featured remarks from LVH–Carbon President Terrence Purcell and orthopedic surgeon Nicholas Slenker from Coordinated Health, part of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN). Check out our video below.
The new 100,000-square-foot hospital is located along Route 443 in Mahoning Township, just outside of Lehighton, and will allow LVHN to provide additional services to the community. Some of the services that will be offered include inpatient and outpatient surgery, rehabilitation, diagnostic cardiology and radiology, including MRI, CT and ultrasound.
The new hospital also will feature around-the-clock care at our emergency department that is equipped with 16 beds. In addition, LVH–Carbon will offer infusion services at a new infusion center.
As part of LVHN, LVH–Carbon will be the highest ranked health system on the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals list serving the Carbon County community. It also will add 150 new jobs to the area.
