I am originally from Escondido, California (San Diego area). I attended college at the University of California, San Diego and then medical school at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine on a Health Professions Scholarship Program funded by the United States Army. I did my OB/GYN internship and residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado and then spent 2 years as an active duty Army OB/GYN generalist at Ford Ord Army Community Hospital in beautiful Monterey, California. Desiring to do an Army sponsored fellowship, I returned to the University of Southern California, LA County-USC Women’s Hospital in Los Angeles for a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, at that time the busiest program in the United States, with over 18,000 deliveries yearly. I then served as Division Director for Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii for 4 years.

Upon leaving the military after 12 years of creditable service, I brought my family to the Lehigh Valley and have worked as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist over the last 27 years in both major hospital systems in the area.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine has been a great career choice for me, as I truly love caring for complicated pregnancies. The field requires expertise and knowledge in a diverse number of fields and is both challenging and rewarding. It has also allowed me to participate in clinical education of medical students and residents, as well as develop areas of special clinical interest and clinical research.

Outside interests include traveling, cycling, music and sampling the wide variety of restaurants in the Lehigh Valley. The Lehigh Valley has been a great place to raise my children, offering the best of educations institutions and suburban living. We have 6 grandchildren in the area and enjoy seeing them grow and mature.

I believe our residency is strong, well balanced and truly prepares our graduates to handle the challenges of clinical practice. Our graduates are also highly successful in achieving fellowship training at excellent programs around the country. Currently, I am especially enjoying giving didactic lectures and teaching residents the facets of both obstetric and gynecologic sonography.
