Amanda B. Flicker, MD, FACOG
Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Chief Medical Executive, Women’s Health Service Line
Dr. Flicker is Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chief Medical Executive of the Women’s Health Service Line. She joined Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) in 2006 to practice obstetrics and gynecology with Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG).
Relevant to her passion for medical education and mentorship, Dr. Flicker has served various roles in the educational realm, including women’s health clerkship co-director for USF Health Morsani College of Medicine SELECT program, member of SELECT Admissions subcommittee, and obstetrics and gynecology residency director.
Dr. Flicker demonstrated her commitment to quality and patient safety in obstetrics in roles such as Medical Director for Labor and Delivery, Chief of Obstetrics, and most recently Vice Chair for Quality. She is a founding partner of the Connections program that compassionately provides care to pregnant women with substance use disorders.
Dr. Flicker has been active in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since residency and serves on the Pennsylvania section executive council where advocacy and health policy for women’s health are main priorities. Stemming from that involvement, she served as a co-chair of the inaugural maternal mortality review committee in Pennsylvania, established to investigate maternal deaths in Pennsylvania and to provide recommendations for strategies to reduce the rate. Many of these recommendations are enacted through the Pennsylvania Perinatal Quality Collaborative in which she is an active member.
Born and raised in Berks County, Pennsylvania, Dr. Flicker completed her undergraduate studies at Villanova University, then medical education at Pennsylvania State University, and obstetrics and gynecology residency training at Pennsylvania Hospital.
