Casey Lower, MD, is our first-year maternal fetal medicine (MFM) fellow. She is originally from Rochester, N.Y. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a major in neurology before returning home to medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She chose to pursue MFM because it combines her love of nuanced patient counseling, teaching residents/students, ultrasound and obstetrics. She chose Lehigh Valley Health Network for her fellowship training because it offers all the benefits of both community and academic practice, such as high clinical volume and acuity, a collaborative research culture and abundant educational resources for trainees. It’s also an affordable place to live for being so close to major East Coast cities. In her free time, she enjoys watching TV with her husband, snuggling her 5-month-old, vegetable gardening, euchre and tennis.
