Darvin Coffin joined the Lehigh Valley Health Network patient blood management and bloodless surgery program in 2022 as a patient liaison. He assists in patient and staff education regarding alternatives to blood products and works closely with patients and their medical team to make sure that spiritual or health-based wishes are respected and incorporated in the care plan.

In his 18 years working in the health care field, Coffin has always enjoyed working as a team to ensure that patients receive high-quality care through collaboration and communication. Because his approach is based in compassion, understanding and empathy, patients who wish to receive medical care without transfused blood can expect frequent contact and an advocate to ensure excellent patient experiences.

Coffin is a graduate of Ashford University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business–Organizational Management.
