After receiving her undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Elaine attended Jefferson Medical College, in Philadelphia. Her passion for whole person health led her to family medicine, and she completed her residency at Lancaster General Hospital. During this time, she developed a strong interest in research and teaching, and she returned to Jefferson for a research and faculty development fellowship and completed her master’s degree in Public Health. Her research interest continues with a focus on obesity in primary care. Elaine completed her certification by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and treats obesity as part of her full-spectrum family medicine practice at LVPG Family Medicine Cetronia Road. She is passionate about helping patients make healthy behavioral changes. In the residency she teaches evidence-based practice, obesity medicine, board preparation, and facilitates resident scholarly activity projects. She serves the Department of Family Medicine as Director of Continuing Medical Education. Her interests outside medicine include reading, art, music, culinary adventures - exploring new restaurants as well as new recipes, and hiking with her family.
