Elizabeth A. Flodin, DO
Chief of Gynecology
Hello! I am Beth Flodin and the Chief of Gynecology. I am originally from Chittenango, NY, a small town outside of Syracuse. I did my undergrad at Nazareth College and then LECOM-Bradenton for medical school to get a break from the CNY/WNY winters! I loved my medical school experience but was too far from my family so I came back north. When I did my interview at LVHN as a 4th year medical student, I could not believe how nice the faculty was and was incredibly happy when I matched here. During residency, I really enjoyed working with one of the private groups and decided to join them after I graduated. The residency program really has evolved since I graduated in 2013. The focus on education, hands-on simulation, and the resident comradery are things I really like about the program now. I have been involved with resident lectures, mock orals and in OR teaching. Another one of the reasons I stayed after graduating was the support I received in my practice but also as a hospital system. There is help 24/7 from other OB/GYNs but also Gyn Onc, Urology, Trauma, General surgery, etc.
I met my husband here in Lehigh Valley and we have an amazing daughter. We enjoy mountain biking and skiing. I have been a runner my entire life and was able to complete 5 marathon and a few half marathons during residency. Since graduating, I started CrossFit and triathlons and have completed 4 halfs and 2 full Ironmans. With the friends we have made inside and outside the hospital, we will be in the Lehigh Valley for a long time!
