I embarked on my academic journey at the esteemed University of Ghana Medical School, where I earned my undergraduate and medical degrees. Even before medical school, my heart resonated with psychiatry – a field I believed could revolutionize societal perceptions of mental health. My formative experiences as a medical officer at Pantang Psychiatric Hospital deepened my passion, particularly for child psychiatry. Now, having completed my residency at the West African College of Physicians, I stand at the threshold of an exciting chapter: joining Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) for my child and adolescent fellowship. Six years into my psychiatry practice, I find immense satisfaction in my chosen specialty.

During my fellowship, I eagerly anticipate collaborating with my fellow professionals to elevate awareness of mental health issues among our young population. This will include meticulously-organized educational programs, engaging workshops and impactful outreach initiatives. Beyond that, I’m fascinated by the intricate neurological aspects of mental health challenges, mood disorders and addiction in children and adolescents. Outside of work, I love reading, listening to music, watching movies and cheering on my favorite football teams.

The warm and welcoming atmosphere during my interview at LVHN made a lasting impact. The support from colleagues and faculty has eased my transition into the program, and I feel LVHN offers an environment conducive to both my personal and professional development. The faculty’s diversity and strong research focus played vital roles in my decision.
