Gene Yoo, DO
Gene Yoo, DO, was born in Chicago and raised in Diamond Bar, Calif., where he attended Diamond Bar High School. His father was a physician and outdoor enthusiast, which was a passion passed on to Dr. Yoo while growing up. During the summer, he hiked and camped at many different national parks in California, which inspired him to pursue a career in sports medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at the University of California, Riverside and went on to earn his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. He completed his family medicine residency at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, N.J., where he served as chief resident. During this time, he invested in his interest in sports medicine by rotating through a variety of outpatient sports medicine clinics, providing sideline coverage for women’s basketball games and learning to perform a variety of ultrasound-guided procedures. He is excited to join LVHN as a primary care sports medicine fellow. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, listening to podcasts, reading, basketball and camping/hiking.
