Joe Schomburg, MBA, MSN, is Senior Vice President of Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, a position he has held since 2022. In this role, he helps lead Lehigh Valley Health Network’s (LVHN) world-class orthopedic services by growing new sites and relationships, driving exceptional clinical quality and providing an exceptional patient experience.

Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute provides the most comprehensive bone and joint care in the region, ranking among the top 30 health care organizations in the nation for orthopedic surgical procedures. The Orthopedic Institute’s unrivaled team consists of nearly 150 providers with expertise in complete musculoskeletal care, including orthopedics, physiatry, pain specialists, chiropractic medicine and podiatry. With more than two dozen premier orthopedic facilities located throughout northeastern Pennsylvania, care is accessible near all the communities LVHN serves.

Prior to LVHN, Mr. Schomburg served as Executive Director for Stanford Health Care’s orthopedic service line. Earlier in his career, he served as Associate Director of Cedars–Sinai’s spine center and the regional senior managerial consultant for perioperative services for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. He began his career as a registered nurse working in the intensive care unit (ICU) and cardiovascular ICU.

Mr. Schomburg earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from New York University, a Master of Science in Nursing and Healthcare Leadership from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration from Ball State University.
