Karla Felix, PhD
Program Director of Medical Education Evaluation
With a background in social psychological research and medical education, I started my journey in research contributing to primary care research initiatives and then devoted my career to the field of graduate medical education (GME).
I have a keen interest in curriculum development, evaluation of medical education programs and the enhancement of graduate trainees’ competencies. Drawing from my background in experimental psychology, I conduct research in the field of GME, aiming to objectively measure competency in skills and develop programs that improve patient outcomes.
Beyond working at LVHN, I also serve as an adjunct instructor at a liberal arts college in New York City, where I currently teach psychology. I completed my doctorate degree at the Graduate Center, City University of New York.
Outside of my professional endeavors, I find joy in various activities, such as being a certified yoga instructor, a fitness enthusiast and a dedicated vegan foodie. Additionally, I actively contribute to my community as a board member of Holiday HOOPS & ARTs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of disadvantaged children and their families through athletics, arts, teamwork, mentoring, life skills and health.
When I am not deeply engaged in my academic and philanthropic endeavors, I take pleasure in embarking on travel adventures with my family and exploring new culinary creations alongside my husband, Josh, stepdaughter and furry child. In my free time, I find joy in playing the cello and practicing yoga.
