I am Manish Mishra and I am vice chair, department of family medicine, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill and an adult hospitalist at Lehigh Valley Health Network.

I was born in India and am living with my family in Orwigsburg, Pa. I completed medical school in India and did my junior residency there as well. After that, I did my residency at Charleston Area Medical Center in West Virginia. Once I completed my residency, I moved to Schuylkill County to be closer to my friends and family. I practiced traditional medicine until five years ago, after which I decided to switch over to becoming an adult hospitalist.

I am very excited about this new residency program as an adult hospital medicine leader. When I was offered this opportunity, I couldn’t help but grab it. Teaching has always been something that I have held very dear to my heart. This program will help us create and nurture young and bright minds that will aid our rural community.

Outside of my medical work, I enjoy cooking for my family and friends, traveling to new places and sleeping. I am happily married and have two kids.
