Matthew Cook, DO
Chief, Division of Medical Toxicology
Hello, my name is Matt Cook and I am the Chief of the Section of Medical Toxicology at Lehigh Valley Health Network. I was born in Somerville, N.J., and raised in Wilmington, Del. I am a graduate of Salesianum (Del.) High School (Sallies), the University of Delaware and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I came to LVHN in 2001 to be a member of the inaugural class of our emergency medicine residency. I completed fellowship training in medical toxicology at the University of California San Diego in 2006, then returned to LVHN in 2009 to start the medical toxicology service and help train residents. I have been very lucky to work with a unique group of medical toxicologists at LVHN who have helped our division expand, diversify and benefit many patients. My professional interests include alcohol, clinical biochemistry, critical-care toxicology and teaching and learning from our residents and fellows. I primarily work night shifts in the emergency department. I live in Emmaus, Pa., with my wife Donnelle, our four sons and our three dogs. I am a big fan of footraces, Philadelphia sports teams and being a dad.
