Matthew M. McCambridge, MD, MHQS, CPHQ, CPPS, is Chief Medical Officer, Acute Care Quality for Jefferson Health, and Senior Vice President and Chief Quality, Patient Safety and Acute Care Continuum Officer for Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN). He oversees quality, patient safety, infection control, infection prevention, radiation safety, regulatory, accreditation and inpatient value-based care at all LVHN hospital locations. He works closely with leadership teams to drive patient safety and clinical excellence, as well as exceptional patient experience and value-based care. 

In 2003, Dr. McCambridge started at LVHN as a staff physician. Since then, he has served as Chair for Department of Critical Care, Vice Chair for Quality and Patient Safety for Department of Medicine, Medical Director for LVHN Quality and Patient Safety, President of the Medical Staff and Chairman for the Lehigh Valley Auxiliary for Critical Care. In 2017, he was named LVHN’s Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer. In 2022, the role was expanded to include the acute care continuum and value-based care.

Dr. McCambridge earned his Bachelor of Biology from Johns Hopkins University in 1988 and his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1992. He entered the United States Army for his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency and then Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowships, all at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He completed his training in 1998. He then served at Womack Army Medical Center and with the 82nd Airborne Division, both at Fort Bragg, N.C., until 2003 before returning home to eastern Pennsylvania. In 2017, he completed his Masters in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety at Northwestern School of Medicine.
