Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, Lehigh Valley Health Network
Michael A. Rossi, MD, MBA, FACC, a member of the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Board of Trustees since 2024 and the Lehigh Valley Hospital Board of Directors, is Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) of LVHN. As CCO, Dr. Rossi's primary areas of responsibility include oversight of hospital-based clinical services, LVHN's institutes/service lines, quality and patient safety and medical staff services, as well as LVHN's academic, education and research enterprise. Dr. Rossi is chairholder of the Anderson Endowed Chair for Medical Executive Leadership at LVHN and a Professor at the University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Rossi has also held national medical group leadership roles, having recently completed terms as an elected Board Member of the American Medical Group Association (AMGA), and Chair of AMGA's CEO Council.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Rossi was Chief Physician Executive for LVHN and President of Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG), the health network's employed medical group with more than 2,000 clinicians. In addition, Dr. Rossi previously served as Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director of LVHN's Heart Center, was the inaugural chairholder of the Walter and Hazel May Endowed Chair for Excellence in Cardiology and served as a District Councilor and Executive Committee member of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Rossi also served as President and Board Chair of LVHN's Accountable Care Organization and nationally as an elected Board Member of the National Association of Accountable Care Organizations (NAACOS). Prior to joining LVHN, Dr. Rossi was in private practice and served as President and managing partner of The Heart Care Group, PC.
Dr. Rossi received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Brown University in Providence, R.I., and his MD from the Brown University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., where he was a chief resident and his General Cardiology Fellowship at The Graduate Hospital, affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, followed by an Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his Master of Business Administration in Health Care Systems Management at DeSales University.
Dr. Rossi has been an active member of the Lehigh Valley community. He currently serves as a Trustee of DeSales University and has served on the boards of The Hillside School, the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Heart Association and most recently the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.
