Vice Chair of Surgery and Chief Medical Officer for Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg and Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hecktown Oaks
Pat Toselli, DO, serves as the Vice Chair of Surgery and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Muhlenberg and at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hecktown Oaks. At both sites, Dr. Toselli is responsible for overseeing of the safe and efficient running of the operating theaters and monitoring of department of surgery administrative policies. His duties as CMO at both campuses include shepherding LVHN’s bylaws, mission, vision and code of conduct. His duties also include oversight of the integration of clinical services, patient safety and quality, regional strategy and patient experience. Dr. Toselli has been an LVHN staff member for more than 32 years and formally joined Lehigh Valley Physician Group in 2009. He was appointed Vice Chair of Surgery in 2013, CMO of LVH–Muhlenberg in 2018 and CMO of LVH–Hecktown Oaks in 2020.
Dr. Toselli is the Medical Director of the LVHN Bloodless Medicine and Surgery Program. As medical director he is a staunch patient advocate and works to create, maintain and unyieldingly insist to allow those who are so inclined to live their faith in an ethical, rational and scientific manner. His outlook is that the bloodless medicine and surgery program must be built on a foundation of mutual trust between the health care system and patients.
