Rob Thurick, DO
Faculty, Walter and Irene Baran Schuylkill Family Medicine Residency Program
I am Rob Thurick, DO. I grew up in Ashland, which is in northern Schuylkill County, and graduated from North Schuylkill Jr./Sr. High School. I completed my bachelor’s degree in biology at Lebanon Valley College before going on to complete my master’s degree in health administration at Pennsylvania State University. From there, I attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed my internship and residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest in internal medicine. Upon completion of my training, I returned to my roots in Schuylkill County to practice general internal medicine in the community.
Currently, I am a medical director for the hospital medicine service at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill. With respect to hospital medicine, I have focused practice as an ICU hospital medicine physician, serving as the medical director of the intensive care unit at Schuylkill, and as a member of the critical care committee and code blue committee.
In the residency curriculum, I am excited to teach the complexities of inpatient management, train residents in procedures that are useful in a rural hospital setting and stress the importance of clinical documentation excellence.
In addition to my role at LVHN, I am a managing partner and chief medical officer of Integrated Medical Group, PC (IMG). IMG is a 50+ physician and multispecialty group platform practice that provides robust physician services in Schuylkill County.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two young children and family. My nonclinical interests are carpentry, world news, travel, grilling and marksmanship.
