Sweety Jain, MD
Sweety Jain, MD, joined Lehigh Valley Family Medicine faculty in September 2006. She received her medical degree from Calcutta Medical College, India, and went on to pursue a fellowship in obstetrics and gynecology. She completed her residency in family medicine at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, Pa., and worked at Lehigh University Health Center for two years. Thereafter, she served as a faculty member at Sacred Heart Family Medicine Residency for almost 10 years. She has been actively involved in motivating residents to participate in research projects and to present at various conferences. Her special interests include gynecologic procedures, preventative medicine and practice-based research. She serves on the advisory council of the PAFP Medical Home Project for care of patients with disabilities. In this context, she has served on the expert workgroup committee for the maternal and child health division of the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C. and on an Objective Review Committee (ORC) of grant applications for HRSA. Her hobbies include traveling, gardening, and writing. She lives in Bethlehem with her husband, Himanshu, a professor of materials engineering at Lehigh University, and their two daughters, Isha and Raina.
