- Connected Care and Innovation
Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is a leader in using technology to connect patients and providers, and discovering innovative ways to provide care. Our focus on connected care and innovation gives you convenient access to care and helps ensure the care you receive is state-of-the-art.
The Air Products Center for Connected Care and Innovation (APCCCI) at LVHN is focused on discovering, designing and implementing innovative ways to improve health care. The video above features one innovation: Virtual Inpatient Check-in and Check-Out (VICC).
Located in downtown Allentown at LVHN–One City Center, the APCCCI provides the space and tools for innovators to brainstorm, design, develop and test innovative technologies, processes or financial models that will transform care, lower costs, and provide better care and improved health for the people we serve.
The APCCCI aims to make the community we serve stronger and healthier by optimizing technological connectivity and digital environments. Smart devices (mobile phone, computer or tablet), videoconferencing, video-scope systems and patient exam cameras are some of the technologies we use to increase access to care and help our patients experience a continuum of care that is smooth and efficient.
Innovations taking place at the APCCCI and throughout LVHN include:
Telehealth
LVHN offers a wide variety of Telehealth services to help patients and their families manage their health care and receive services conveniently, when and where they need them most.
Video Visits
Available 24/7, an LVHN Video Visit is a way to talk with and see an LVHN provider through your video-capable, internet-connected smart device (mobile phone, tablet or computer).
Continuous Ambulatory Remote Engagement Services (CARES)
Continuous Ambulatory Remote Engagement Services (CARES) allows your doctor to collect health data outside the doctor’s office or hospital with smart devices, so you only go to the doctor’s office when you really need to.
LVHN BabyCam
Available in the neonatal intensive care unit, LVHN BabyCam allows parents and other parent-approved individuals (such as family members) to view the baby through a secure internet connection.
Bright Idea Generator
LVHN's health care professionals have countless ideas about how to provide innovative health care. The Bright Idea Generator is a website where LVHN employees can share their ideas about how to provide care even more efficiently and effectively.
Partnerships
Your health deserves a partner. That’s why LVHN partners with Medtronic, a leader in health care technology, Optum, a leader in population health technology, and community-minded organizations to implement innovative ideas that result in better health and better care at a better cost for the communities LVHN serves.
