About
Philosophy of care
I treat all of my patients as if they are members of my family. I feel that my role as a physician and surgeon is to educate each patient so that they can make the best decision for their particular illness.
Why I entered medicine
I chose this profession to help people and to be stimulated intellectually. I was also inspired by my family to become a physician and surgeon. My father and brother are dentists, and my mother was an operating room nurse.
Personal interests
I enjoy playing golf, cooking, cycling, reading and spending time with my wife and children.

"Very satisfied with Dr. Welkie and the care he provides to me."
"I saw Dr Welkie for my post surgical appointment and he is excellent in his approach. He is hands fown the very best vascular surgeon above all others on any hospital staff anywhere. Zhe has great surgical technique and my fem pop bypass was successful thanks to his attention and skill. He is a realist but not an alarmist. He tells it like it is with kindness and care and is a good listener as well I trust him with my life and feel confident with all his recommendations and expertise to follow his advice which is sound. To sim it up he is first class gentleman, best surgical skills and a really nice guy"
