About
Philosophy of care
When treating patients, I imagine how I would want to be treated and incorporate that into every interaction. I treat many diseases of the head and neck, ranging from problems breathing through the nose to cancers of the sinuses and skull base, so there is no single treatment for everyone. I strive to explain the disease process, sometimes using diagrams or images to help with the anatomy and location of the problem as well as my treatment recommendations. Communication is key when dealing with complex disease, and I strive to keep an open line of conversation.
Why I entered medicine
Medicine provides the opportunity to truly help and directly impact lives. I chose a career in medicine to not only help my patients, but also to help advance the field. I was drawn to otolaryngology, a specialty focused on the ears, nose and throat, because it offered an opportunity to work with patients of all ages and treat many diseases, from sore throats to complex cancers.
Community involvement
As a rhinologist living in the Lehigh Valley, I strive to bring awareness to disease of the sinuses.
Personal interests
In my free time I enjoy traveling and being outdoors. I love hiking, backpacking and exploring. When at home, I enjoy spending time with my family and experimenting with new recipes and cuisines.

Dr. Parsel's Care Team
What is a Care Team?
Your care team is a group of caregivers in a specialized medical practice, including your doctor and physician assistants, who specialize in two main areas: ear, nose and throat (ENT), and head and neck surgery, or otolaryngology (OHNS). They work together to diagnose and treat – both surgically and nonsurgically – issues with your ears, nose and throat, and a broad range of conditions affecting your head and neck.
How we care for you
The Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base care team consists of Sean Parsel, DO, and Allyson Marshall, PA-C, who focus on treatment and management of sinonasal disease and pathology of the nose and sinuses. We specialize in the surgical and non-surgical management of a vast array of diseases involving the nose and sinuses including chronic sinusitis, sinonasal tumors and cancers. We treat tumors involving the skull base (including the pituitary gland) as well as cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks and meningoencephaloceles, abnormal extensions through defects in the skull.
