Internal Medicine Residency Resident Benefits

The following program-specific benefits are offered to Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) internal medicine residents in addition to the graduate medical education-wide salary and benefits.

Benefits

  • Educational allowance of $1,500 per academic year. Costs covered for educational expenses including seminars, conferences, study materials, etc.
  • Time off: 14 days per year and either Christmas or New Year’s week off
  • Pennsylvania state medical training license
  • Uniforms: up to three embroidered white lab coats, zip-up jackets (similar to a Patagonia) or scrub sets per year
  • Certifications as required, such as BLS and ACLS
  • Fee paid for American College of Physicians (ACP) membership (intern year)
  • Fee paid for Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program
  • Fee paid for ACP Physicians-in-Training Examination
  • One wellness day, 12 sick days
  • No 24-hour shifts
  • Meal allowance of $1,400 per academic year
