Funding focuses on community health and human services, children's well-being, and medical equipment needs here at LVH-Pocono. All applications are reviewed and evaluated by a diverse selection committee. Guidelines and submission requirements vary with the respective applications. William B. Cramer Medical Staff Equipment Endowment
The Medical Equipment Endowment Fund provides physician leaders at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono an opportunity to request funding each year for the purchase of medical equipment that will enhance healthcare services provided by their department. All equipment purchased through the fund will be the property of LVH-Pocono. These grants are solely funded by contributions designated to the Cramer Medical Equipment Endowment Fund.
Holiday Tree Lighting Community Grant
The Holiday Tree Lighting is a competitive grant process to fund programs serving the children and adolescents of Monroe County. The awards are funded through the generous donations collected during the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Program - a community partnership between the Rotary Club of the Smithfields and the LVHN-Pocono Foundation.
Dr. Claus G. Jordan Endowment Fund
In 1933 Dr. Claus G. Jordan came to the Poconos from the University of Pennsylvania and was the first surgeon to practice at the Pocono Hospital, now LVH-Pocono. For 50 years he was a driving force in healthcare for the community, leading the creation, growth, and achievement of service excellence LVH-Pocono is known for today. Upon his death in 1996, the Jordan family established this endowment for the purpose of helping nonprofit institutions that are committed to both LVH-Pocono and human services in the community we serve.
Dr. Alberta Finch Children's Health Endowment Fund
As a pediatrician, Dr. Alberta Finch spent her career improving the quality of life for others and working to improve the community – especially for children who might otherwise not have access to healthcare. Dr. Finch created a legacy of caring for others and, through her endowment, continues to improve children’s health and wellbeing.
Pocono Foundation Endowment Fund
This endowment was established to provide support to programs that are aligned with the mission and values of LVH-Pocono and to direct funding where it is needed most in the community.
Community Health Endowment Fund
The Community Health Endowment directs funds to nonprofit organizations to help develop new or innovative programs that further the mission of LVH-Pocono to heal, comfort and care for our community.
Valerie M. Hodge Memorial Pediatric Dental Center
Former Board member Valerie Hodge lived a short but deeply meaningful life and believed in giving back to her community. Valerie’s family honored her legacy of caring by making a generous donation to support the dental facilities and services for local un- and under-insured children.
