Summary
Teaches and supervises nursing students in the classroom and/or clinical settings and contributes to the professional development of nursing students.

Job Duties

  • Creates an environment in the classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical settings that facilitates student learning and achievement of desired knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
  • Assists students to develop as nurses and integrate the values and behaviors expected of those who fulfill that role.
  • Implements effective clinical and assessment evaluation strategies appropriate to the learning outcomes of the course.
  • Applies clinical expertise in the health care environment.
  • Operationalizes the curriculum in order to prepare graduates to function effectively in the health care environment.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication and collaborative inter-professional relationships.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Nursing and
  • Master’s Degree Nursing (or actively enrolled) in ACEN/NLNAC or CCNE accredited program.
  • 3 years Teaching in a classroom or clinical setting.
  • Demonstrates integrity, stability, imagination, and discriminative judgment in instruction of nursing students.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates interest and respect for students.
  • Demonstrates commitment to life-long learning.
  • Demonstrates respect, collegiality, professionalism, and caring in relations with administration, staff, colleagues, and students.
  • Knowledge of FERPA.
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or
  • Doctorate
  • CNE - Certified Nurse Educator NLN - State of Pennsylvania within 180 Days


Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
