Summary

Constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs, casework, cabinetry, shelving, and various aspects of woodworking. Maintains and repairs doors and associated hardware. Maintains fire and smoke walls to maintain required rating. Installs wall protection. Performs routine maintenance and repair tasks.

Job Duties

  • Maintains door frames, doors, and door hardware. Automatic door knowledge preferred.
  • Maintains fire and smoke walls to maintain their required ratings.
  • Responds to trouble calls, work requests and emergency situations.
  • Utilizes the CMMS Work order system and documents time and work completion in a timely manner.
  • Installs wall protection.
  • Provides Infection Control measures (ICRA) for projects/maintenance as needed
  • Assists department colleague of all trades.
  • Procures materials and maintains inventory.
  • Constructs, installs, maintains and repairs casework, cabinetry, shelving and other aspects of woodworking.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years Carpentry, building construction, cabinetry
  • Proficiency in carpentry techniques
  • Building construction knowledge
  • The analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles, mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and good physical condition are required
  • General maintenance ability
  • DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical School Diploma The work requires the level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of formal apprenticeship program or through informal on the job training which is usually supplemented by courses at a trade school or technical school.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA code requirements for fire and smoke walls, fire and smoke doors and egress.

Physical Demands

Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
