SummaryPerforms electrocardiogram (EKG) for outpatients and performs processing for inpatients and outpatients. Assigns to Physician for reading. Assists with troubleshooting (quality, performance, EKG machine, etc.).
Job Duties
- Performs high quality patient care activities, including inpatient/outpatient EKG processing, and assigns to Physicians for reading daily. Performs patient prep and applies electrodes for outpatient EKG daily.
- Performs high quality patient care activities including patient prep, explanation, application, and documentation of Holter monitor recorders and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors daily.
- Provides technical analysis of ECG data during all testing. Performs follow through/documentation as part of patient's record on a daily basis.
- Provides ECG support to other clinical areas to assist with quality, maintenance, and machine troubleshooting; procedure; and protocol utilization during downtimes, etc.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia.
- Ability to work with PCs and software programs (HIM system, EKG information management system, etc.).
- General clerical skills including use of fax, copier, memo taking, conference phone system, etc.
- Physical ability to assist patients with mobility issues and transport equipment.
Preferred Qualifications- Technical School Diploma Basic arrhythmia course
- 1 year 12-lead ECG performance, knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia
- CET - Certified EKG Technician - State of Pennsylvania
Physical DemandsLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
