SummaryPlans and directs all aspects of the Facilities Management Department activities for their assigned hospital campus and related facilities. Ensures all infrastructure projects, initiatives and processes are in conformance with the hospital's established policies and objectives through continuous monitoring and improvement of the life safety, equipment and utility management programs. Ensures compliance to Joint Commission, DOH, NFPA, OSHA and other regulatory agency standards. Develops, monitors and reports on operational and capital budgets and costs within the department, alerts Administrator, Facilities Management of cost and labor over runs, makes recommendations and implements solutions to problems related to these over runs. Responsible for maintaining and verification of all PA State Labor & Industry / Department Of Health certificates and operations licenses that are filed accordingly (i.e. boiler certificate, elevators certificates, DOH licenses, DEP certificates, EPA certificates, and local AHJ permits and inspections). Also, all other AHJ's certificates licenses and inspections that impact LVHN operations for that particular hospital.
Job Duties
- Develops and maintains a working relationship with other patient care departments and physicians in order to foster a multidisciplinary approach to effectively meet departmental operations requirements and resolve operational and other issues.
- Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives and processes are in conformance with the hospitals established policies and objectives through continuous monitoring and improvement of the life safety, equipment and utility management programs.
- Ensures compliance to Joint Commission, DOH, NFPA, OSHA and other regulatory agency standards.
- Performs other Duties as Assigned
- Plans and directs all aspects of the Engineering department activities for the hospital.
- Prepares departmental budgets for personnel, operations and capital for hospital.
- Manages CMMS for work orders and equipment inventory.
- Manages purchasing for department.
- Manages, evaluates, trains and schedules staff.
- Performs hands on mechanical-technical work on equipment and systems.
- Manages repair, renovation and capital projects as the facility's POC.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED Technical studies.
- 7 years Technical trades experience
- 3 years Hospital facilities management supervisory experience or work in similar capacity.
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities. Excellent work ethic and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications- Associate’s Degree Technical studies.

Physical DemandsLift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
