Summary

Assist with planning and implementation of the Leonard Parker Pool Institute for Health's strategic initiatives to improve the health of community members by addressing the social drivers that impact health. Core to this work will be collaborating and working with multiple partners and stakeholders across external organizations and sectors as well as national partners. Works with LPPIH team to articulate initiatives' scope, goals, and deliverables and facilitates successful completion of the initiative's goals and deliverables. Under guidance of the LPPIH's leadership, helps to maintain forward momentum on initiative, communicates with partners between meetings, and anticipates potential barriers to the success. Manages relationships with cross-sector partners. Assists with projects' evaluations and assessment of results. Familiarity of non-profit organizations in the Lehigh Valley and previous experience within community-based organizations strongly preferred. Awareness of best practice interventions to address housing, education, food access and other social drivers of health.

Job Duties

  • Works with LPPIH team to articulate initiatives' scope, goals, and deliverables and facilitates successful completion of the initiative's goals and deliverables
  • Develops comprehensive and realistic work plans involving multiple resources.
  • Ensures roles and responsibilities on projects are clearly delineated.
  • Manages and reports data to drive strategy and assists with project evaluations.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with community partners in order to maximize and coordinate efforts to improve community well-being.
  • Effectively conducts written and oral project updates for LPPIH leadership
  • Supports administrative needs of project including calendar management, meeting coordination, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree Public Health, Community Health, Social Services or other relevant area
  • 3 years experience in healthcare, public health, community health and/or community based services
  • Ability to think strategically, and to work independently and collaboratively to effectively manage self and partners toward projects' goals
  • Must have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to optimize resources to achieve positive results
  • Must exhibit innovative thinking, communication, writing, proposal development, collaboration, and relationship management skills
  • Must show initiative and have the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to effectively run meetings to ensure action steps are identified and completed
  • Utilizes effective communication skills in interpersonal interactions with fellow staff and teams, management, students, vendors, and the community
  • Ability to think of creative solutions and work through barriers in cross-sector projects

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree Public Health, Community Health, Social Services or other relevant area
  • 5 years experience in healthcare, public health, community health, and/or community based services
  • Expertise in social determinants of health, health improvement, or public health
  • Expertise in using Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Teams

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
