SummarySupervises and coordinates the activities of staff, Performs high-quality diagnostic imaging, and monitors adherence to all departmental policies and procedures as it relates to the imaging modality of supervision. Performs and oversees all specific factors associated with maintaining department quality standards, in addition to maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies as they relate to the imaging modality. Manages the oversight of supply inventory, quality control, equipment maintenance and assists in orientation, training and evaluation of all technical and support staff. Delivers a high quality of patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction.
Job Duties
- Performs diagnostic imaging procedures as outlined on the technologist job description in the imaging modality of assigned responsibility.
- Supervise technologists during performance of established work flows, procedures, protocols, and customer service standards.
- Assumes staff scheduling and payroll responsibilities for the department.
- Ensures preventative maintenance and quality control activities on all equipment are maintained.
- Assists in performance evaluations, competencies and continuing education for all imaging staff in accordance to hospital/departmental standards.
- Oversees orientation and training for technologists and support staff, providing coaching/mentoring.
- Implements new departmental imaging protocols and/or procedures.
- Assists the Director in mediation of unresolved issues related to staffing, morale, schedules, patient feedback, discipline and other imaging department concerns
Minimum Qualifications- Technical School Diploma Graduated from an accredited medical imaging program or
- Associate’s Degree Graduated from a medical imaging school or
- Associate’s Degree Graduated from a School of Nursing or Nursing Program
- 2 years experience in specific area of registry.
- Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, family and physicians.
- Ability to think logically, organize time and resources effectively and handle stress.
- Ability to train staff, influence and develop others and foster team-work.
- Ability to recognize, analyze and solve a variety of problems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the technology of safely and effectively using radiation producing equipment.

- RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
- RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or

Physical DemandsLift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
