The George E. Moerkirk Emergency Medicine Institute (GEM-EMI) is a hospital-based training center that is accredited to teach American Heart Association certification courses, pre-hospital education including EMT certification program, Co-AEMSP-accredited Paramedic programs, as well as trauma education for physicians and nurses though the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Trauma Nurses, and the Emergency Nurses Association.

Paramedic Program

Earn your NREMT-P Certification through EMI and LCCC! This program will provide ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS certifications as well as 12 lead EKG interpretation training.

The EMT program is a 150-hour program that meets or exceeds the national curriculum standards as set forth by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

AEMT Program

EMI follows the National EMS Education Standards which prepares the AEMT student to take the National Registry exam. Once you have successfully completed your testing, you will receive your National Registry and PA State AEMT certifications.

Do you want to fly or do critical care transports? Or function on an EMS ambulance as a nurse? If so, the PHRN course is for you! Pennsylvania requires RN’s who want to do any of the above to be certified as a Prehospital RN.
