Lehigh Valley Health Network’s (LVHN) Nephrology Fellowship program provides innovative, fellow-centered training. We received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in September 2011, and in July 2014 we graduated our first two fellows. The two-year clinical Nephrology Fellowship provides an outstanding opportunity for clinical and academic training.

The LVHN Nephrology Fellowship features:
An outstanding clinical learning environment. LVHN is the largest tertiary referral center in the region. We have a strong transplant program with more than 100 kidney transplants per year. As a fellow, you will see strong clinical volume and an excellent case mix.
Devoted, energetic, inquisitive faculty. Our division includes 23 board-certified nephrologists with diverse interests and experience, including critical care, transplantation, interventional nephrology, electrolyte and acid-base disorders, dialysis (continuous, intermittent, home, nocturnal and peritoneal), plasmapheresis and glomerular disease. Our group includes two certified interventional nephrologists in our full-time dialysis access center, where our fellows gain experience in interventional nephrology procedures.
Bright, committed, engaged nephrology fellows. From the beginning, our fellows have been actively engaged in creating and improving our program. Our fellows are the program’s core and have ongoing input into curriculum development and program improvements. One measure of our success is our fellows’ performance on the American Society of Nephrology In-Training Examination, where our fellows have scored above the national average every year since 2014.
