Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is proud to announce that the LVHN Diagnostic Radiology Residency has received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). LVHN is proud to join the ranks of the approximately 200 ACGME-accredited diagnostic radiology residency programs nationwide. The program is based at Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Cedar Crest and led by David Pryluck, MD, Vice Chair of Radiology Education and Research, Associate Professor, and Program Director.

The program is actively recruiting PGY-2 residents who have successfully completed their PGY-1 internship for its inaugural class to start in July 2025. The program will also consider advanced applicants who have successfully completed a PGY-1 internship to begin as PGY-2 radiology residents in July 2026. Interested applicants should reach out to Dr. Pryluck directly by email here.

For 100 years, LVHN has had independent residency programs. We are an accredited member of the nation’s Council of Academic Health System Executives.

The inaugural NRMP Match will be in March 2026 for residents to begin as PGY-2 radiology residents at LVHN in July 2027. The program will partner with the LVHN transitional year and surgical preliminary year internships, also based at LVH–Cedar Crest, for residents who wish to complete their internship and residency at the same institution.

About the program

The newly accredited LVHN Diagnostic Radiology Residency is a four-year training program approved for five residents per year. Residents will be trained across all radiology subspecialties and imaging modalities and gain structured and experiential education in artificial intelligence, leadership, quality improvement, health care economics and principles of community-based practice. By embodying these values, this new Diagnostic Radiology Residency strives to not only meet the immediate needs of LVHN patients, but also to inspire a legacy of excellence in radiology education and patient care.

This new residency program is committed to addressing the critical shortage of radiologists in Pennsylvania by training a new generation of professionals committed to serving its patients. The program seeks to attract residents who are passionate about community-based practice and aspire to make a meaningful impact in health care delivery. The program is committed to cultivating a learning environment that encourages innovation, collaboration and continual professional growth. The curriculum fosters intellectual curiosity and emphasizes guided self-directed learning with individualized mentorship.

Residency programs

A resident doctor is already a graduate of a medical school who is currently undergoing further specialized training in a specific field of medicine. They work under the supervision of attending physicians as part of the graduate medical education program. This residency adds to the 40-plus residency and fellowship opportunities available at LVHN.

For 100 years, LVHN has had independent residency programs. We are an accredited member of the nation’s Council of Academic Health System Executives.
