Since Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–17th Street opened in 1899, Leonard Parker Pool brought his vision for a “superior regional hospital” to reality in 1974 with the opening of LVH–Cedar Crest, until today, as Jefferson and Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) come together for the future of care, the people of LVHN have been driven to serve our community.
Their commitment was recognized as the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce honored LVHN’s 125th anniversary and LVH–Cedar Crest’s 50th anniversary with a Milestone Award. Jefferson CEO Joe Cacchione, MD, accepted the award during the Chamber’s Annual Meeting at Wind Creek Event Center.
“This honor celebrates every person who has served at LVHN, in every role, over the past 125 years,” Dr. Cacchione said to the audience of more than 1,000 members of the business community. “These are your friends, family members, and neighbors, deeply committed to caring for you and the people in your hometown. It’s this innate desire to help others that fills me with optimism about the future of health care in our region.”
