Becker’s Hospital Review recognizes Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute for exceptional care
Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute is among the best orthopedic programs in the country, according to Becker’s Hospital Review.
Becker’s, a noted health care publication, featured orthopedic programs that offer minimally invasive treatments, forward-thinking research and breakthrough clinical trials that improve patient outcomes on its 100 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Orthopedic Programs List.
Hospitals considered for this honor also received other notable awards from organizations like U.S. News & World Report. Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH) is nationally ranked for orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report on the 2023-2024 Best Hospitals List and places 27th among the nation’s top orthopedic programs.

Specialists at Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute perform three times as many joint replacement procedures and twice as many sports medicine procedures as other health systems in our region. In fact, our specialists perform 25,000 procedures annually. LVHN has more than three decades of experience and more than 200 orthopedic providers at more than 100 practice and rehabilitation locations across the service area.
LVHN–Tilghman and LVHN–1503 N. Cedar Crest Blvd. are the only campuses in the region dedicated to orthopedics. Our surgeons perform inpatient procedures such as total joint replacements (hips, knees and shoulders) as well as spine and back surgeries. These campuses have been providing exceptional orthopedic care for more than 15 years.
We are the first health network in the region to use the Mazor X Stealth Edition™ robotic guidance platform. This platform provides our specialists with tools to enhance pre-surgery planning and greater precision during surgery. This reduces surgery time and minimizes pain and recovery time. We also use robotic systems to assist in knee replacement surgery at select hospitals. Robotic surgery helps specialists with precision cutting and balancing during a procedure. This results in less pain, minimizes the need for inpatient physical therapy and a shorter hospital stay.
