Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Pocono and LVH–Schuylkill are being honored by the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) with the 2024 Excellence in Patient Safety Program recognition.

“As a trusted health partner, we make a promise to heal, comfort and safely care for our community. This recognition shows our patients safety is our top priority,” says Terry Purcell, Senior Vice President, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN); President, LVH–Schuylkill; President, Northwest Region. “LVH–Schuylkill’s colleagues are the reason our patients trust us with their care, and I am so proud of all we accomplish together.”

Hospitals that earn this award report better than the mean for health care associated-infections, including central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) and clostridium difficile infections (CDI). Statistics are sourced from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Earning this award embodies our colleague’s hard work, compassion and dedication to safe care,” says Cornelio Catena, Senior Vice President, LVHN; President, LVH–Pocono. “Our colleagues earned this recognition because of a collective drive to make the community a healthier place to live and work.”
