Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Pocono and LVH–Hecktown Oaks are receiving an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for Spring 2024. Hospitals receive this recognition for protecting patients from preventable harm and errors in the hospital.
“Receiving these ‘A’ grades from Leapfrog lets our community know they’re in safe hands,” says Matthew McCambridge, MD, Senior Vice President and Chief Quality, Patient Safety and Acute Care Continuum Officer, LVHN. “I am incredibly proud of colleagues who work at LVH–Pocono and LVH–Hecktown Oaks because they work tirelessly to ensure our patients receive the safe, high-quality care they expect and deserve.”
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization that grades hospitals from across the U.S. Each hospital graded by Leapfrog receives an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” for safety. Leapfrog’s grading system is based on errors, accidents, injuries and infections patients may encounter while in the hospital. Leapfrog also grades the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
