If you’re struggling with postpartum depression, hope is here. WAVES (Women Adjusting to Various Emotional States) is designed to help women struggling with postpartum depression (PPD) and other associated perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) during pregnancy and the first 12 months after giving birth. Offered by LVPG Obstetrics and Gynecology, WAVES provides education, resources, treatment and support from obstetric professionals who have extra training in perinatal mental health.
Mental Health Help During Pregnancy and Postpartum
You are not alone. PMADs are the most common pregnancy-related complication, with one in five women experiencing a mood or anxiety disorder during pregnancy or in the postpartum period. You may feel overwhelmed, sad or even anxious during your pregnancy or after your baby is born. While these feelings may go away on their own, it’s important to know that help is available at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
LVPG Obstetrics and Gynecology offers a program called WAVES (Women Adjusting to Various Emotional States), which is designed to support you as you deal with the emotions of pregnancy and the first 12 months of motherhood after the baby arrives. This program provides you with education, resources, treatment and support from obstetric professionals who have extra training in perinatal mental health.
