About

Philosophy of care

I was raised to treat others as I would like to be treated, and I try to bring that philosophy to every patient encounter. To do this, one must always have respect for the patient and be an outstanding listener.

Why I entered medicine

I have always had a passion for the biological sciences and I knew I wanted a career in that field -- specifically, research. But after working as a laboratory technician during college, I realized I missed human interaction. I was more interested in getting to know my co-workers than my test tubes. This was when I realized I could incorporate my love for science and people into becoming a physician.

Community involvement

During my family medicine residency, I volunteered annually at the first aid station of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Saucon Valley, Pa.

Personal interests

Above all, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love the outdoors and spend most free time hiking, kayaking and camping with my husband and our dog.
